ACPM Medical College was established in 1990, in Dhule, Maharashtra to provide comprehensive healthcare education, research and training facilities to medical professionals. The founding vision of the medical institute and hospital, in regard to care service, was for low cost, high quality delivery of healthcare services. The institution is a constituent unit of Jawahar Medical Foundation and is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik. The different medical degree programme and diploma programme at National Medical Commission NMC) is well understood.
Admission Procedure of the Medical College
The college is famous for the courses having different specialisations in Anatomy, Medicine, Surgery, ENT, Orthopedics, Pathology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine and Obstetrics Gynecology and so on. The 5 1/2 years’ MBBS course of study including one year internship is based on all previous academic records and Competitive Entrance Examination marks. The students should possess the minimum cut off marks (50% marks) in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English at the higher secondary examination (or equivalent) and have the NEET qualification to apply for the undergraduate medical courses. The lower limit of age for an undergraduate medical student is 17 years old on or before 30th October in the year of enrollment. The National Medical Commission (NMC) has agreed to admit a maximum of 100 students per academic session to its MBBS program courses at the college. 15% of seats are reserved for NRI or NRI sponsored and foreign nationals.
Academic and Practical Training Methods
Intensive practice in accordance with NMC guidelines is practiced by means of religious lectures, CPR, introduction to intensive care medicine and pain, Anesthesiology clinic, performance procedural exercises in Operation Theatres and Intensive Care Units. Interactive tutorial, case study presentations, brain-storms, problem-solving skills training are all on the curriculum. Internal and interdepartmental conferences and seminars, national and international workshops are organized on a regular basis. Application of the best science to contemporary medicine, and contemporary surgical technique is of utmost importance. Periodic internal reviews are carried out for evaluating the knowledge and handling of medical processes of the students.
Infrastructural Facilities Offered
The teaching hospital and research centre is a 562 bedded college centred teaching hospital and research centre that is provided with state-of-the-art super specialist, digitalized, laboratories and 10 operation theatres for performing a variety of investigations in Microbiology, Pharmacology etc. The central, department and ward-level laboratories are adequately equipped for carrying out a wide range of investigations by radiography, CT scan, X-ray, MRI, Colour Doppler, Two dimensional Echo, and Ultra-sonography, etc. The campus at Dhule is equipped with audio-visually supported lecture halls, auditorium, well furnished museums, animal houses, Central Library, examination gallery, Satellite departmental libraries, demonstration room, dissection hall, up to date computer lab, internet facility, sports complex, playground, girl’s and boy’s hostel separately, mess facilities, cultural activity centre, ATM, transportation and telecommunication and so on for delivery of best quality educational services to students.
Faculty and Fees Structure
The faculty is made up of high-class medical practitioners, actively practicing research of intensive and thorough nature on the contemporary medicine and the modern surgical processes in the college laboratory. The majority of the professors are reputed experts in their respective Pre-Clinical, Para Clinical and Clinical fields. The department of medicine has many research papers and journals available in medical publications across the country and internationally. The annual tuition fee for MBBS is Rs. About 4,75,000 (which may vary depending on the decisions made by the college authority) (BMI).
