Padmashree Dr. D.Y. The Maharashtra state Pirangipet, Navi Mumbai, was set up in the year 1989 to offer quality faculty education, research, and training facilities to the medical community. The aim of the medical institute and hospital was very high expertise and affordable healthcare facility delivery. The institution was granted University status by UGC.The different medical degree and diploma courses are acknowledged by Indian National Medical Commission or NMC, Maharashtra Government Human Resource Development, World Health Organization or WHO, Malaysian Medical Council and the Malaysian Government. The student body are afforded a global perspective and a base from which to practice medicine by the medical college’s varied national and international memberships. 2000 Certification at the Joint Australia New Zealand Standards (JAS-ANZ) for its detailed teaching and research criteria.
Admission Procedure of the Medical College
The contributions of this college are particularly noteworthy because its courses include many specializations in the field of Medicine, Chest and TB, Surgery, ENT, Forensic Medicine, Ophthalmology, Pathology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Anatomy, Psychiatry, and others. Candidates should have at least 50% marks in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English in higher secondary examination and NEET Qualified for admission in the undergraduate medical courses. Scholarship is granted to the eligible students on the basis of their academic and AIET performance. The minimum age for a medical student of an undergraduate program is 17 years old (or earlier) by the admission year. 15% of seats are reserved for NRI or NRI sponsored and foreign nationals.
Academic and Practical Training Methods
Mentoring in education and practical training methods are comparable to that of international standards. Intensive and extensive exposures of students in any undergraduate and postgraduate study are emphasized upon. Rigorous practice, under the guidelines of NMC, is conducted through edifying lectures, CPR training modules, introduction to intensive care medicine and pain, Anesthesiology clinic, performance procedural training in Operation Theatres and Intensive Care Units. Interactive tutorials, case study presentations, brain-storming sessions, problem solving skills training, are all part of the curriculum. Integrated and inter-departmental conferences and seminars, national and international workshops are conducted regularly. Research on contemporary medicine and surgical procedures is given due significance. Regular internal examinations are conducted for assessing the understanding and application of medical processes of the students.
Infrastructural Facilities
The college-affiliated 1000-bedded teaching hospital and research center are provided with super-specialised, fully digitalized laboratories and operation theatres to offer comprehensive investigations in Pathology, Pharmacology, Orthopedics, Radio Diagnosis, Ophthalmology, Pediatrics, Anaesthesia etc.We have provided 3 large capacitiy lecture halls, well-equipped library and museum, 104 classrooms, 700 computers, Internet connectivity, 26 audio-visually enhanced seminar halls and 2 auditorium, community center, sports complex and Academy, hostel and mess facility, cultural activity room, ATM, cafeteria and many more to deliver international standard student educational services. Faculty and Fees Structure
The faculty is made up of an eminent group of medical practitioners actively engaged in a large number of intensive and lengthy research projects in modern medicine and the new surgical approaches in the hi-tech college labs. The majority of the professors are highly acclaimed and topmost specialists in pre-Clinical, para Clinical and clinical fields. Digitalized laboratories are fully-equipped for performing diversified investigations through Radiography, ComputedTomography, Mammography, 0.2T MRI, Ultra-sonography, Color Doppler, 2D Echo, Renal Dialysis machine, etc. Medicine department publishes a large number of research papers and journals in medical literature both nationally and internationally. The annual tuition fee for MBBS is Rs. (approximately 25,75,000, which is tentative and will change according to the decisions of the college authority).
