Dr. Ulhas Patil Medical College& Hospital(DUPMC) established in the year 2008 at Jalgaon, Maharashtra, the aim of this institute is to offer multidisciplinary education, research, and training facility for the medical pros. The vision of the inception of the medical institute and the hospital was to provide affordable and professional delivery of healthcare facilities. The institution is a Constituent Institution of the Godavari Foundation, and is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik (MUHS). The different medical degree and diploma courses are purview of the National Medical Commission (NMC) .
Admission Procedure of the Medical College
The college is popular for its courses containing different specializations in Anatomy, Medicine, Surgery, Ear Nose Throat, PSM, Pathology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, and Obstetrics Gynecology etc. Admissions to a 5.5 year MBBS course covering one year internship are made based on the educational background and performance in the State Entrance Test. Higher secondary examination should possess minimum 50 marks in biology, chemistry, physics and English, while NEET qualification is required for admission of undergraduate medical courses. To qualify as an undergraduate medical student, the age of the applicant must be 17 or older, on or before academic year of admission. As per the college, a maximum of 100 students annually are allowed to be admitted in MBBS subjects due to the authorization from the NMC. All seats reserved for NRI (Northern Research Institute), NRI sponsored, and foreign nationals constitute 15% of total seats.
Academic and Practical Training Methods
In accordance with NMC, rigorous practice in edifying lectures, CPR training modules, introduction to intensive care medicine and pain, Anesthesiology clinic, procedural performance training in Operation Theatres and Intensive Care Units is carried out. Interactive tutorials, case study presentations, brain stormings, problem sheet training, etc., are also included in the curriculum. Regularly integrated and interdepartmental conferences/seminars, national and international workshops are organized. Contemporary medical and surgical practices are afforded appropriate weight. Students undergo routine internal assessment for the purpose of evaluation of medical process perception and execution.
Infrastructural Facilities
The college-based 500-bedded teaching hospital and research facility has super-specialized, computerized, 7 laboratories and modular operation theatres to provide services for a wide range of investigations in Microbiology, Haematology, Biochemistry, Cytopathology, Serology and Histopathology and so on. Digitalized laboratories are fully equipped for a wide range of investigations by Radiography, CT scan, X-ray Machine, MRI, Fluoroscopy, Ultra-sonography etc. The Jalgaon campus is equipped with, 4 audio-visually-supported lecture halls, fully equipped museums, 24*7 open Central Library and E-library, demonstration room, dissection hall, updated computer labs, Internet facilities, sports complex, playground, independent girls and boys hostels, mess room, cultural activity centre, ATM, and so on, for the conveyance of top-notch educational services to the students.
Faculty and Fees Structure
The staff of faculty are highly acclaimed medical members who are actively taking part in all types of intensive and long term research works into modern medicine and recent surgical procedures in the laboratories, associated with the college.
