The Institute of Medical Sciences Research was founded on the year 2012 at Satara in Maharashtra to offer quality medical education, research and training facilities to medical personnel. The mission of the medical institute/hospital was to deliver, at an affordable rate and of a high standard, healthcare provision. The college is constituted as a Constituent Unit of Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Education Society. The different medical degree and diploma courses are approved by the National Medical Commission or NMC, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences or MUHS, Government of Maharashtra.

Admission Procedure of the Medical College
IMSR is widely known for its courses containing many specializations in General Medicine, Surgery, Community Medicine, Paediatric, and Radiology, Physiology, Forensic Medicine, Pathology, Microbiology, Anatomy and Biochemistry, and so on. Candidate must carry minimum 50% marks in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English in higher secondary examination and NEET qualified for admission in the undergraduate medical course. The students must be at least 17 years of age on or before the year of entry. Intake permission under NMC for MBBS is 100 students. Seats under management quota and reservation quota are assigned by the rules of Associate CET.
Academic and Practical Training Methods
Methods of education and practical training are similar to international practice. It is noted that intensive and also extensive exposures to students in any teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate studies are stressed. Rigorous practice is performed as per the NMC’s guideline and it encompasses edifying lectures, training module, introduction to intensive care medicine and pain, Anesthesiology clinic, performance procedural training in Operation Theatres and Intensive Care Units. Interactive tutorial, case study presentation, brainstorming activities, problem solving and skills training session are all within the curriculum. Integrated and inter-departmental conferences and seminars are conducted regularly. Studies of current medicine and operating procedures are also afforded proper attention. Periodic inner examinations are performed to evaluate the students’ comprehension and application of medical process.
Infrastructural Facilities Offered
IMSR-associated 346 bedded teaching hospital is furnished with super-specializedized, digitalized centralized clinical laboratory, 6 operation theatres for the demands of various Biochemistry investigations, Microbiology, Anesthesiology, pathology, Radiology, etc. The facility has modern cardiac, general, neonatal, pediatric and critical care facilited, on open service, with extremely subsidised rates. Large auditorium, well-equipped central library, latest computer labs, internet connectivity, audio-visually enabled seminar hall, auditorium, community centre, sports complex, student hostel and mess facility, culture centre, ATM, and other facilities will be provided so that world-class educational services can be disseminated to students. The campus is free from ragging.
Faculty and Fees Structure
The teaching staff is made up of professional medical specialists that actively participate through many intensive and large scale research projects in modern medicine and contemporary surgical procedures in the hi-tech college laboratories. In general, the majority of professors are a highly respected faculty of specialists in pre-Clinical, para Clinical and clinical fields. The centrally computerized laboratory of clinics is modernly geared up for performing different investigations by radiography, computed tomography scan, color Doppler, magnetic resonance scan, and ultra-sonography, etc. The faculty of medicine has many research papers and journals from various medical publications. The annual tuition fee for MBBS is Rs. 7,10,000 approximately, which is subject to change based on the decisions of the college administration.
