Jawaharlal Medical College was set up in 2005, at Wardha, Maharashtra for comprehensive health care education, training and research, as a . The vision of the inception of the medical institute and the hospital was to provide affordable and professional delivery of healthcare facilities. The institution is a Constituent Unit of Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences (DMIMS), Deemed University. All kinds of medical degree and diploma courses are recognised by National Medical Commission (NMC). DMIMS has received Grade ‘A’ accreditation by NAAC.

Admission Procedure of the Medical College
The college has earned a reputation for its courses and specializations in Anatomy, Medicine, Surgery, ENT, Orthopedics, Pathology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, and Obstetrics Gynecology, etc. Duration of 5 and a half years’ MBBS course with one year’s internship is awarded on the basis of the previous academic record and the performance in all India Pre Medical Entrance Test, DMIMS AIPMET. Candidates must possess minimum 50 marks in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English in higher secondary examination and NEET Qualified to take admission to the undergraduate medical programmes. English should be made compulsory at 10+2. The age threshold for an undergraduate medical student has to be 17 years old or before December 31st at the time of admission. The permission of the college to enroll 100 students (each year) in MBBS course has been granted by NMC. 15% of seats are reserved for NRI or NRI sponsored and foreign nationals.
Academic and Practical Training Methods
Rigorous practice (according to the NMC) takes place with the help of enlightening teaching sessions, such as learning CPR, learning intensive care medicine and pain, learning Anesthesiology clinic, M&T procedural training in Operation Theatres and ICU. Interactive tutorials, case study presentations, brain-storming exercises, problem solving skills training) are all components of the course. Regularly, integrated and interdepartmental conferences and seminars, national and international workshops are organized. It is also well considered that the research in modern medicine and surgical intervention are of great importance. Periodic internal examinations are carried out to evaluate the level of understanding and application of medical process students have obtained.
Infrastructural Facilities Offered
College-based 1206-bed teaching hospital and research centre is furnished with super-specialised, digitalised, laboratories and operation theatres to conduct various investigations with the help of High Precision Monitors, Colour Doppler, Arterial Blood Gas Analyzer, Computed tomographic scan, ECG and X-ray etc. Central, departmental and ward-based laboratories are adequately equipped for performing a wide range of investigations. The campus in Wardha has audio-visually-assisted lecture rooms, auditorium, well-equipped museums, animal houses, Central Library, examination galleries, departmental libraries, demonstration room, dissection hall, computer labs. uplift, Internet connectivity, sports complex, playground, separate hostel and hostel for boys/girls, mess facility(s), cultural activity centre, ATM, transport, telecommunication and many more to disseminate world class educational facilities to students.
Faculty and Fees Structure
The faculty comprises highly distinguished medical practitioners, who are actively engaged in multiple intensive and extensive research training work at the department, in the laboratories of the teaching college. The professors are majority well known specialists in the Pre-Clinical, Para Clinical and Clinical fields. The department of medicine has an abundance of research papers and journals published in the various medical literature nationally and internationally. DMIMS has received B.C. Roy Award for research. The annual tuition fee for MBBS is Rs. ~5,500,000, respectively, which is currently an estimate and will change depending on the decision of the college management.
