Navodaya Medical College was founded in 2001 with a view to deliver quality healthcare education, research and training facilities to medical practitioners. The multi-specialty Navodaya Medical College Hospital& Research Centre started in the year 1996. With the establishment of the medical college coupled with the hospital, NMC became a completely independent medical college in Raichur. The vision of the inception of the medical institute and the hospital was to provide affordable and highly expertise delivery of healthcare facilities. The different medical degree and diploma courses are admitted by the NMC, National Medical Commissionor and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. Passing candidates are conferred medical degree and diploma by NMC and RGUHS. The institution has been awarded many prizes for the teaching and treatment of high quality and for innovative researches on different areas of medicine.

Admission Procedure of the Medical College

The university is widely praised for its courses and several specializations in the field of Medicine, Surgery, Physiotherapy, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology etc. Admission to 5½ years’ MBBS course including one year’s internship period is done only on the basis of the earlier academic records. Scholarship is awarded to high achievers in academic performance, both in the previous semesters. One must have a minimum of 50 marks in the subjects of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English in higher secondary examination, and also pass NEET Exam for taking admission in the undergraduate medical courses. The PUC examination be accorded by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. In addition, B.Sc graduates including two electives from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology can apply. The age limit of a student must not be less than 17 years old on December 31st of the academic year for MBBS admission candidates.
