Teerthankar Mahaveer Medical College and Research Centre, located in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, was established to offer a high standard of healthcare education, research, and training facilities to the medical fraternity, addressing the rising demands of tackling health problems in the nation. The college was accredited by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and the National Medical Commission (NMC) in 2008, allowing it to admit one hundred medical students per year. The college emphasizes national and international industrial collaborations as well as student exchange programs, providing students with the exposure needed to work on an international scale.
Admission Procedure of the Medical College
The college is well known for the program courses of MBBS, MD and M. Sc. Medical with various specializations. Admission to 5 and a half years’ MBBS course inclusive of one year’s internship period is based on the students’ performances in TMU Entrance Test and previous academic records. Scholarships are awarded to the best students according to the academic results in previous courses and the entrance examination scores. Candidates are required to secure a minimum of 50% marks in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English during higher secondary level examination and NEET Qualified, intending to pursue admission in undergraduate medical courses. The minimum age of a student must be 17 years by the end of December 31 for all courses in under-graduation.
Academic and Practical Training Methods
Mentoring for education and practical training techniques are all equal to those of any international benchmark. Intensive exposure of students at any undergraduate and postgraduate level is highlighted. Strict practice according to the NMC seems to be learnt with the aid of didactic lectures, CPR training, intensive care medicine and pain, Anaesthesia clinics and performance procedural training at Operation Theatres and Intensive Care Units. Infrastructural Facilities Offered
The college-based hospital has super-specialized facilities at the Central Laboratory to provide investigative test in Pathology, Microbiology and Clinical Biochemistry. Machines such as Ultrasound and Color Doppler Study machine, Computed Tomography (CT) and Digital X-ray with image intensifier are in the Radiology of the hospital. Well used during the course study include endoscope, Echocardiograph, TMT, Fluoroscopy, Audiometer, Joint Replacement Surgery and Dialysis machines. The college hospital is well equipped with 500 bed tertiary level, 20 beds casualty level and 28 beds intensive care level units. Air-conditioned classrooms, language laboratories, well stocked libraries, computer labs equipped with modern computers, Wi-Fi, seminar halls, auditorium, community centers, sports complex, open air theatre, mess facility and other facilities ensure dissemination of top quality educational facilities.
Faculty and Fees Structure
The faculty are accomplished medical practitioners who are actively engaged in extensive research programmes in the modern medical practice of the college laboratories. The majority of the chairs are well known experts (clinical Gi Surgeons, Paediatricians, General Mediators, Dermatologists, T.B). and Chest, Anatomy, Forensic Medicine, Pharmacology, Anesthesiology etc. The department of medicine provides numerous research papers and journals in various medical publications, nationally and internationally. The annual tuition fee for MBBS is Rs. 16,20,000. One-time Security fee is Rs 1,00,000.
