General surgery is a surgical subspecialty in orthopedic surgery. MS General Surgery is a three-year postgraduate medical program dedicated to teaching students surgical techniques (commonly referred to as surgery) in a variety of diseases and accidents The program’s coursework is balanced with practical sessions and theoretical lectures on the liver, stomach, colon, digestive tract, thyroid gland, hernia The system of gastrointestinal organs expertise prepares students for strategies to recognize the stomach also as preventive and therapeutic.
Upon completion of the course, candidates gain the ability to practice specialty surgery in accordance with the principles of professional ethics. The program teaches students to handle trauma patients effectively as they gain medical experience.
Graduates of the postgraduate course in MS General Surgery can work as surgeons in private and government hospitals, besides the prestigious medical profession
Candidates for MBBS degree from a recognized institution permanently registered with Medical Council of India or Medical Council of any other country are eligible for this course.

MS General Surgery is a 3-year Prost Graduation Course which includes clinical training and theoretical courses

Ms General Surgery Eligibility

Before applying for general surgery program, an applicant must complete MBBS with 1 year rotational internship, student pursuing internship can also apply for this course but must complete internship before start of academic year. The candidate’s MBBS degree should be registered with MCI or State Medical Council.

Ms General Surgery Admission Process

To get admission in MS general surgery course, an applicant must qualify NEET-PG exam with good NEET score. Students/candidates must have qualified NEET-PG with requisite percentage in individual category ie. 40th percentile is required for SC, ST, ST and ST persons for 50 per cent of the total available. NEET-CUTOFF score for MS General Surgery is quite high for government medical colleges and some top private medical colleges but student can also explore the option of getting seats in some private medical colleges and Deemed Universities which pay higher fees in MS General Surgery management quota, under institutional quota or NRI quota. The general surgery process begins with NEET- PG screening by NBE followed by NEET PG counseling by various state medical boards and MCC.
