In psychiatry, MD is a medical specialty dedicated to the diagnosis, prevention, evaluation, and treatment of mental disorders. Md Psychiatry Course Duration
Doctor of Medicine in Psychiatry is a 3-year course, students are admitted to the course through competition in NEET- PG in the national examination conducted by the National Board of Education (NBE).
Md Psychiatry Eligibility

Md Psychiatry Admission Process
To get admission in MD Psychiatry, an applicant has to appear for NEET PG Medical examination conducted by NBE in the month of January every year. Students/candidates are eligible for NEET-PG qualification with prescribed NBE guidelines. The cutoff percentile for NEET-PG for general category is 50th percentile and for SC, ST and OBC it is 40th percentile. The chances of getting into MD Psychiatry are based on candidates NEET score and NEET Rank, after qualifying NEET-PG entrance test, students have to apply for centralized PG Medical counseling.
All India seats for all government medical colleges are reviewed by the MCC Medical Advisory Committee, while central universities like AMU and BHU are also reviewed by the MCC. For admission to PG medical colleges in state government medical colleges and private medical colleges, students should apply for state PG medical counseling by the concerned DME -Director Medical Council.

Md Psychiatry Fees
The cost of MD psychiatry in public private colleges starts from Rs 15 lakh to a maximum of Rs 40 lakh per annum.
The cost of MD mental health at respected universities varies from college to college. It ranges from a minimum of 1.8 million to 3.5 million per year.
